Entrepreneurial Inner Peace
"Time management is the art or act of determining the occurrence or sequence of events." Hyrum Smith
The objective of good time management is really inner peace. What does inner peace have to do with achieving your objectives as an entrepreneur? Successful entrepreneurs are able to function in a space of stillness and serenity while juggling multiple projects, priorities and opportunities.
In order to handle the juggling you must be able to determine what your priorities are and then create action plans, meetings and events which support their execution. Unfortunately for many, once the entrepreneur badge goes on, the disciplined planning and prioritizing often goes out the door. The result is that a large number of entrepreneurs get hurried and harried, they stress and press, make simple, silly mistakes and end up chasing activities and events which are not connected to their goals and dreams. In fact, far more entrepreneurs run out of energy than run out of opportunity or money.
If you can thoughtfully determine what your priorities are and then work them into a logic sequence during your day – you will be well on your way to gaining control of your time, increasing your productivity and developing inner peace.
The natural by-product of inner peace is an increased ability to focus on priorities, an awareness of new opportunities and the capacity to adapt in order to succeed.

Game of Work....
People will pay for the privilege of working harder than they will work when they are paid. Chuck Coonradt
At first blush most people find this quote puzzling. Really, who would pay for the privilege of working harder more than when they are paid to work? Look around you. People pay lots of money to have a personal trainer work them like a dog in a physical workout. Humanitarians will spend thousand of dollars of their own money so they can go to a hot, remote village and work around the clock to build a school or dig a well. And passionate entrepreneurs everywhere bounce out of bed, often knowing there will be no reward for the day beyond what comes from a good night’s rest after a good day’s work.
Further – many will work harder preparing for a vacation than they will ever work on their vocation. Why? Sometimes it is simply the way we frame our activities and efforts. In sports, recreation and vacations we often are able to set some very clear, specific goals, our efforts are easily tracked to our results and we are able to express our inner selves through these activities.
Successful entrepreneurs and business owners are those who can create a culture around what Mr. Coonradt calls, “The Game of Work.” When you create an environment where every member of the team feels they are part of a winning story, where everyone knows their role and what the team needs them to contribute and when everyone is rewarded for executing with excellence – then you have the foundation for an extraordinary business, team or department.
It is true that people will work hard for money, but they will work much harder when they are given the chance to be part of a story, know what their goals are, have control over their performance and are recognized for their individual success as well as the success of the team.
In the 21st century, nothing is more important than creating a culture in your organization that can make work more like play while establishing the pursuit of excellence as the focus of every day.

On the EDGE of your seat
As an entrepreneur you must pay the price to get a seat in the game… But you will only need the EDGE of your seat if you are fully engaged, as the entrepreneurial game is the most intense, exhilarating and exciting experience you will ever have. McKay Robert
Are you living your life in a way that is keeping you on the EDGE of your seat? Or have you joined the masses who have settled in, settled down and are just sitting back watching the world and their dreams go by? Many today are living their lives vicariously through the “lifestyles of the rich and famous,” reality television and other media which portray what seems to be the perfect life. Passively watching never leads to full engagement or forward movement.
Entrepreneurs are different and most are engaged and on their way. The challenges of today’s economy, however, have knocked many in the nose and caused some entrepreneurs to cower in the corner and others to sit back in a “wait and see” mode. The key to sustaining success and keeping your life and business on the EDGE of your seat is to keep leaning in, keep learning and keep striving for the best in every situation.
A wise man once said, “It is far better to lean into the stiff wind of adversity than it is to hunker down and do nothing!”
Take time today to evaluate your level of engagement. Not only in your business, but even in your approach to your EDGE experience. Are you sitting back and passively watching videos and listening to podcasts or are you sitting on the EDGE of your seat, soaking it in and visualizing ways to apply what you learn? Are you going the motions of reading through the challenges and exercises or are you setting goals and action plans to implement them into your work, business and personal life?
The time for sitting back is over. Make certain you and your employees or group are fully engaged. Life and business are always better when you are sitting on the EDGE of your seat!

Kindness is King
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. Plato
It is true that life is hard. Which means that just about everyone you talk to - from your employees and partners to customers and shareholders, from prospects and strangers to neighbors and friends – most are most likely to be having a challenging day for one reason or another.
Why is knowing others are fighting a hard battle important for you to understand as an entrepreneur or business owner? Simple – people like to interact or do business with people they like and trust – and the greatest way to make that connection is by recognizing other’s challenges and treating them with kindness and respect.
Think about the last “hard battle” kind of day you had. During that day did anyone treat you with a little extra kindness? Did anyone sense something was not quite right in your world and attempt to make your day a little better? Did anyone give you a smile that lifted your spirit or express thanks for your efforts or service? Think about how that made you feel – Think of how it lightened your load, put a little bounce back in your step or helped you face the next challenge of your day.
Killing people with kindness is still one of the greatest business strategies ever created. Again, it doesn’t matter if it is an employee or customer – showing a little extra kindness can make all the difference in a relationship. Plato clearly understood what the challenges of the 21st century would be – so never underestimate the power of a little bit of kindness.
Kindness – especially when someone is facing a tough challenge or hard battle can lead to truly loyal employees, committed partners and life-time customers.

Blog title...
Thinking will not overcome fear but action will. W. Clement Stone
Successful entrepreneurs are constantly facing fear and staring down uncertainty. From the fear of failure, to fear of rejection, from fear of letting loved ones down, to fear of the unknown – fear is a dominant and persistent force in the life of an entrepreneur and the great ones have developed strategies for overcoming it.
Action of course is the answer to fear. And not just any action, but focused, deliberate action is the key. Fear cannot stand and must give way to such action – it is a universal law.
The world is filled with fear-mongers who paralyze the masses with the big news of bad news; and who constantly point out the down-side and risk of taking action. Entrepreneurs recognize that risk taking is the only path to security making.
Some describe fear as a dark, black hole. When you face that dark, black hole of fear the best thing to do is to take action and step into, not away from, it. A wise man once said, “Walk to the edge of the light and even one step into the darkness. There you will find that the light will extend one step further on your path to success and achievement.”
How do you deal with fear and uncertainty? Do you have an action strategy for such moments? Take action today and watch your fears evaporate as the mist before the morning sun. Attack something today that fear has been keeping you from doing – it will change your day and may change your life forever.

Entrepreneurs are the Answer
Economic depression cannot be cured by legislative action or executive pronouncement. Economic wounds must be healed by the action of the cells of the economic body - the producers and consumers themselves. Herbert Hoover
Big business and big government never have and never will be the answer to economic challenges. Entrepreneurs, sole-proprietors, small businesses and individuals are what make the world and economy go around.
A Global Entrepreneurs Movement has begun. All of us at iLearningGlobal and the E.D.G.E. program are excited to be a part of it and are thrilled to have you as part of this movement too.
We salute your commitment to continuous improvement. We commend the passion with which you pursue your purpose. We are inspired by your insight and innovation. We cheer your success and know that we are all in this together.

We wish you continued success in your quest to achieve the extraordinary!
